HOW I CAME TO YOGA
I was one of the least able and capable students when I went to my
first yoga classes but they gave me a peace of mind which was lacking
after my usual working day.
Luckily my first classes were with a senior teacher Jayne Orton who
had studied with the Iyengar family. I found her dedication inspiring
and still attend her weekly classes.
I eventually fell into the teacher training programme after many
years of attending regular classes, practising at home and a few
visits to India to study with the Iyengars and their teachers. It was
a natural progression as the amount of information I gathered made me
ready to start to learn how to give back to others.
I've always found that teachers in the Iyengar tradition give help
and guidance freely to sincere students in such a way that encourages
self discipline, improvement and empowerment. I'm grateful for
all the tuition I've received.
